Colonel & Ella

Colonel LeValle:  Colonel Livingston LeValle was born on September 27, 1877 in Screven County, Georgia. He received his elementary and secondary education in Screven County. He married Ella Clark, of Hiltonia, Georgia. Ella was born on May 10, 1877 to Lawson and Hedy Clark in Screven County, Georgia. 

Colonel went into ministry after having a revelation from God. He followed the path of Jesus and went away for some time to ponder the message. When he returned, he was confident in his calling. In preparation for the ministry, he attended Gammon Theological Seminary. He preached his trial sermon at Munnerlyn United Methodist Church in Munnerlyn, GA.

He was appointed Itinerant Minister by the Annual Conference, Pastor of Hiltonia Church in Hiltonia, GA, and Pastor of Munnerlyn Grove UMC in Munnerlyn, GA. Subsequent appointments were in Jesup, GA, Barnesville, GA, and Dublin, GA. The last churches he pastored were Munnerlyn Grove UMC and *Nannie E. Williams Church in Millen, GA.

Colonel and Ella: Colonel and Ella lived in Millen, Georgia. There he farmed and taught elementary and adult night school. They moved to Sylvania, Georgia where he farmed and ministered. Colonel and his family eventually returned to Millen, Georgia where he retired.

Colonel and Ella were the proud parents of 15 children: Randolph LeValle, Fannie Mae LeValle-Sullivan, Roberta LeValle-Harper, Colonel LeValle, Isiah “Ike” LeValle, Daisy LeValle-Scruggs, Mattie Lee LeValle-Ziegler, John Wesley LeValle, Julia LeValle-Krone, Hattie LeValle-Faust, Hedy LeValle-Smart, Governor LeValle, Fred LeValle, Joseph LeValle, and Eula LeValle-Tolbert. 

Colonel died on November 12, 1954. Ella died on May 27, 1972. They and four of their children are buried in Munnerlyn Grove Cemetery.
